Clipper, the ethical tea brand owned by Wessanen UK, has been awarded a prestigious trophy for the Best New Supplier of the Year 2018 by FoodBuy, a leading food and beverage procurement company.

The award celebrates Clipper’s recent partnership with Foodbuy and the Compass Group.

At FoodBuy’s inaugural conference, Clipper was recognised for its commitment to reduce waste, increase efficiency and the team’s ability to go the extra mile to ensure all sites were merchandised and supplied correctly.

The ceremony gave Foodbuy the platform to recognise and celebrate the excellent contribution its suppliers have made to the business in the previous year. Comedian and TV personality Rob Beckett, presented the award at the London ExCel exhibition centre to Clipper’s Adam Perry and Kevin Hughes.

Adele Ward, Clipper brand controller at Wessanen UK, says:

“We’re delighted to be awarded this accolade from such important customer who has enabled us to reach so many new consumers for us. It is testament to the hard work of everyone at Clipper from sales and marketing through to our factory workers and everyone in our supply chain.”

Adele adds:

“With our focus on ethical sourcing, Clipper Teas’ values align brilliantly with The Compass Group’s; it’s a perfect match. We’re proud to be a different kind of tea company, and what makes us different is our commitment not just to great taste, but also to developing pure, natural products with a clear conscience.”

Clipper has achieved rapid growth in the foodservice sector over the last 12 months and has established a firm reputation as a major player in this area.
